He's out!

Lucas Michael DaSilva 9 pounds 2 ounces 3:43PM.

It's push time!

Here we go...

Another hour?

She's at 9 cm. If she keeps progressing she starts pushing in an hour.

Lucas to arrive during the Rutgers game???

6 cm

Looking good.

4 cm and on the Pitocin

Lucas is finally making some progress. 4 cm, 100% effaced. Mommy is sleeping, Lucas is tolerating everything well.

All is right in the world...

She's got her epidural

After spending 3 hours with contractions every 2-3 minutes, Lisa's made some headway in the dilation department. This acheivement has brought her the reward of an epidural!

Hopefully she can sleep a bit.

Cervidil is in

And now, we wait!

Here's what's going to happen

The induction will go something like this:

Cervidil will be used to soften the cervix. It takes about 12 hours to see the effect. After that, if the cervix reacts like they hope, they will give Lisa Pitosin to cause contractions. Then dilation, effacement, and baby.

What's this mean? It means Lucas' birthday will be November 2nd at the earliest.

Stay tuned...

We have a room

Lisa is now comfortably in a bed. Room 4 LDR. Cervidil first. Then maybe tomorrow baby. They will watch her all night just in case.

Still waiting...

No room yet. But good to know we're here and ready to go even if the docs aren't.

Waiting...

We went to the doctor at 12pm for an ultrasound. The amniotic fluid was low. Off to induction! Have been sitting at the hospital waiting for a room since!
